Managed DNS That Keeps Your Domain Working
PlatOps runs your DNS so your website and email always point to the right place. We host your zones on Amazon Route 53, Google Cloud DNS or Azure DNS, keep every record correct, remove the ones you no longer need, renew your domains and make changes under the approval rules you set.
Managed DNS costs $49 per domain per month, and your main domain is included with Managed Email.
What we handle
For every domain you own
- DNS hosting on Route 53, Google Cloud DNS or Azure DNS
- Every record checked against the server it should point to
- Old records removed when servers are retired
- Domain renewals, so nothing lapses
- Changes under approval or auto-approval rules
- DNSSEC, change alerts and lookalike-domain monitoring
- Private DNS and Tailscale MagicDNS
- Geolocation and latency routing, failover
What managed DNS covers
DNS decides whether anyone can reach your website or send you email. It rarely breaks, so when it does, nobody remembers how it was set up.
DNS hosting
Your zones run on the provider you prefer, usually the one your other systems already use.
- Amazon Route 53, Google Cloud DNS or Azure DNS
- Moved from your current DNS host for you
- Every change recorded
- Health and resolution monitored
Records that stay correct
Every record is checked against the server, service or tool it should point to. When a server is retired, its records go too, so nobody can take over a forgotten subdomain.
- Records checked against live servers
- Obsolete records removed when servers are retired
- Dangling subdomains caught before someone claims them
- Email records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) kept correct
Changes on your terms
Every change follows the rule you set: your approval first, or auto-approval for routine changes you choose.
- Approval or auto-approval, per type of change
- Each change logged with who asked and why
- Rolled back if something breaks
- Requests through the helpdesk
Domains and renewals
We take over registrar renewals if you want, so a domain never lapses because a card expired or the reminder went to someone who left.
- Renewals tracked and paid
- Registrar fees passed through at cost
- Registrar lock against unauthorised transfers
- Expiry alerts
DNS security
Protection against someone redirecting your website or email, or impersonating your domain.
- DNSSEC signing
- Alerts on unexpected record changes
- Lookalike-domain monitoring
- Location-based rules where you need them
Advanced routing and private DNS
For setups that need more than records: traffic steered by location or speed, failover, and DNS for internal systems.
- Geolocation and latency-based routing
- Health-checked failover between servers
- Private DNS zones for internal systems
- Tailscale MagicDNS

Managed DNS FAQ
How much does managed DNS cost?
$49 per domain per month. Domains that need geolocation or latency routing, failover or private DNS are $149 a month, and parked or redirect-only domains are $10. Your main domain is included with Managed Email. Registrar fees are passed through at cost.
Which DNS providers do you use?
Amazon Route 53, Google Cloud DNS or Azure DNS, depending on your preference and where the rest of your systems run.
Do you handle domain renewals?
Yes, if you want us to. We track every domain's renewal date, renew it, and pass the registrar fee through at cost, so nothing lapses because a card expired.
How do DNS changes get approved?
You choose per type of change: either we wait for your approval, or routine changes you have agreed in advance are approved automatically. Every change is logged with who asked for it and why.
What happens to DNS records when we retire a server?
We remove them. A record left pointing at a server or cloud address you no longer own is how attackers take over subdomains, so cleanup is part of retiring anything.
Do you support private DNS and Tailscale MagicDNS?
Yes. Private DNS zones for internal systems and Tailscale MagicDNS are part of the advanced zone, along with geolocation and latency routing and failover.
Is DNS security included?
Yes. DNSSEC signing, alerts on unexpected record changes and lookalike-domain monitoring are part of managed DNS.
